Australia Day Honours

Congratulations to our very own Jann Cook who was conferred the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the community through Operation Christmas Child. The award was gazetted on Australia Day, 26 January 2010 and Jann will receive her medal at Government House in May this year.

Jann has worked for over ten years with the organisation, coordinating and distributing gifts to needy children throughout South-East Asia.

Operation Christmas Child is a campaign run by Samaritan's Purse to show children that they are loved and have not been forgotten. Shoeboxes are distributed at Christmas time to suffering and under-privileged children in over 135 countries, with over 61 million boxes delivered since 1993.
