DESCRIPTION:Come join MBC 50+ group for a special pot luck dinner at the Centre welcoming our guest speaker\, author and public speaker\,  Jo-Anne Berthelsen who will speak on The Power of Our Words. \n6pm for dinner  followed by guest speaker then dessert around 8.30pm. \nPlease bring a main or dessert and let Sandy Martin know what you will be bringing so we don’t double up. Christmas time food very welcome but not essential. BYO drinks. Non-alcoholic punch\, tea and coffee will be provided. \nJo-Anne Berthelsen is a Sydney-based author of seven novels and four non-fiction works. She holds degrees in Arts and Theology and has worked in teaching\, editing and local church ministry. SUMMARY:MBC 50+ Cooks River Walk & Picnic
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday 22 March – 10am to 2pm – for a walk and picnic in Gough Whitlam Park. Invite your friends! \nThis walk is mostly flat\, 4km\, partial shade\, but the path is shared with bicycles so can be busy. \nOn the day: \n\nMeet at Gough Whitlam Park Carpark at 10am.\nWe will walk west along Cooks River and back to Gough Whitlam Park for lunch.\nPicnic lunch (BYO everything) at Gough Whitlam Park\, hopefully around 12- 12.30pm.\nAfter lunch\, pack up and return home or continue to explore Wolli Ck and the other walks in this interesting area. Wolli Creek station is about 2km (30 mins walk)\n\nNote: There is a small coffee & sandwich shop near the bridge on Illawarra Rd (we’ll will be near it just before the end of our walk back to the park for our picnic lunch). It’s about 15 mins walk from the park. This was the closest food/coffee we found to the park. \nPlease register below if you would like to attend! \n

SUMMARY:MBC 50+ Train to Kiama Outing
DESCRIPTION:Our 50+ Adults are going on a train trip to Kiama! \nWe’ll start the day by at 8.50am at Sutherland station (catch the 9.01am train platform 2). This is a lovely (1hr 50min) train trip passing beautiful scenery along the coast. \nAt Kiama\, we will do a short walk and check out the lighthouse\, blowhole\, quaint and historic buildings etc\, then find somewhere for lunch. \nThere is a great variety of reasonably priced eating places along Terralong Street from cafes and take away\, to the Leagues Club (cnr Terralong and Collins) or bring a picnic to have in the Hindmarsh Park. \nAfter lunch\, we can walk back to the station and return home. \n\n1.56pm Kiama gets to Sutherland 3.43pm OR\n3.05pm Kiama gets to Sutho 4.43pm (fast) OR\n3.56 Kiama gets to Sutho 5.43pm\n\nThose up for a longer walk may like to walk to Bombo (about 4km ) for a look around and catch a later train back to Sutherland from Bombo station. (maps available) \nIn the event of unexpected trackwork we will organise a car pool amongst those wanting to attend. Its just over an hour’s drive from Sutherland. DESCRIPTION:You are welcome to join us at our next Adults (50+) Group outing to Bundeena. \nWe will meet at the Cronulla ferry wharf to catch the 10.30 am ferry to Bundeena (arriving 11am).\nTrain from Sutherland @ 9.58am\, (arrives Cronulla 10.14am) if not driving. \nWalk Bundeena beach/shops or coffee and then RSL for lunch at 12 noon.\n(If driving to Bundeena\, arrive at RSL 12 noon) \nAfter lunch\, optional (slow) walk to Jibbon Beach (aboriginal Rock carvings) approx 1.5 hrs there and back.\nReturn to Cronulla on 3pm ferry or later (Ferries depart on the hour until 7pm). \nLimited car pick up is available with Harley & Bethany to Cronulla should the trains be out or anyone requiring a lift. \nPlease RSVP by 20 May so booking reservation for lunch can be made!

DESCRIPTION:You are welcome to join us at our next Adults (50+) Group outing to Bradley’s Head. \nThis area has amazing views of the city and harbour. We’ll walk along the track\, pausing at Athol Beach\, and admiring the views till we reach Bradley’s Head. There we’ll explore the Amphitheatre\, lighthouse and historical relics and walk back a slightly different track\, on the other side of the peninsular and up the hill\, past Athol Hall and back to the wharf (it’s an easy 2 hours to do approx 3.5km\, grade 3 walk with some steps). \nTiming/Travel for the day \n\nWe’ll meet at Sutherland station at 9.00am for the 9.05am train to the City\, or meet at Wharf 4 (B)\, Circular Quay at 10.00am for the 10.12am ferry to Taronga Park.\nDo the walk out to Bradley’s Head.\nCatch the 12.34pm ferry back to the Quay and lunch at City Extra (1.00pm) on the Quay (Options from $17 to $38 a head).\nAfter lunch\, catch train from the Quay or walk to Martin Place for train home.\n\nHope you can join us\, step outside your circle\, invite a friend or 2! \nContact Sandy Martin (details below form) for any further information. \nPlease RSVP by 13 March by filling out the form below as I need to book a table for us.
